Josh Rice grabbed another $5,000 victory at Florence Speedway.
What won the race: Charging from the 13th-starting position in his backup, Josh Rice of Verona, Ky., outdueled polesitter Robby Hensley in the final 10 circuits to capture the $5,000 victory at Florence Speedway on Saturday night. He took the checkers 2.359 seconds ahead of Hensley.
Key notes: Rice also won March 27's $5,000 payday at Florence. ... Polesitter Robby Hensley of Walton, Ky., paced the field for the first 30 laps but was unable to keep Rice at bay following a lap-32 restart. Second-starting Scott James of Lawrenceburg, Ind., ran second most of the race until contact with Hensley on lap 32, eliminating James and third-running Jesse Lay. … Florence hosts the Lucas Oil Series Ralph Latham Memorial ($15,000-top-win) on May 1 and the Castrol FloRacing Night in America ($10,000-to-win) on June 2.
