Michael Norris rolls around Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.
What won the race: Sneaking past early pacesetter Daryl Charlier before the halfway point of the 50-lapper, sixth-starting Michael Norris of Sarver, Pa., raced to the $6,010 Pace Performance RUSH Racing Series victory in Saturday’s 32nd annual Jook George Steel City Classic at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Norris took the checkers ahead of series points leader Kyle Hardy and Kyle Lukon, last week's PPMS winner.
Quotable: "I was getting pretty nervous with (runner-up Kyle) Hardy," Norris said. "They were running the bottom and blowing the crumbs all the way up the track. I wasn't good enough to run the bottom- I needed to be from the middle to the high side. I have a lot of laps around here and I think that played in my favor."
Key notes: Driving his brother-in-law Nico Dabecco's car, Norris won the Jook George Steel City Classic for the second straight time. ... He picked up an extra $1,000 as a financial contributor to the event. ... Fourteen of 26 starters finished on the lead lap. ... Dave Goble of Aliquippa, Pa., won the non-qualifiers' feature.
On the move: Joe Martin of Punxsutawney, Pa., started 11th and finished fifth.
