Dustin Mitchell heads to a $3,000 victory at County Line.
What won the race: Dustin Mitchell of Pine Level, N.C., returned to winning form at County Line Raceway, roaring to a $3,000 victory over Michael Batten of Rocky Mount, N.C., in Saturday night's 40-lap I-95 Late Model Challenge season finale.
Key notes: Mitchell was triumphant for the fourth time in 2014 at County Line. ... Russell Erwin of Beaverdam, Va., was crowned the champion of the inaugural I-95 Late Model Challenge, a nine-race series for Limited Late Models at County Line, Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway and Clary's Speedway in Littleton, N.C. His fourth-place finish was just enough for him to nip third-place finisher Damon Kotke of Louisburg, N.C., by a single point (191-190) for the title. ... Christian Thomas, Eric Erwin and Ray Tucker did not start the feature.
Points chase: Erwin topped Kotke by a single point (191-190) for the I-95 Late Model Challenge crown, with Scott Adams of Chester, Va., finishing a close third in the standings with 183 points.
