What won the race: Ben Watkins of Rock Hill, S.C., outdueled Ross Bailes of Clover, S.C., to captured Saturday's 40-lap Red Rose Rumble feature at Lancaster Speedway. Watkins grabbed the lead from Bailes from the final time with three laps remaining en route to the $5,000 Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series checkered flag.
Key notes: Watkins earned his fifth career Clash victory; he won a series event at Lancaster in March 2021. ... The polesitting Bailes led the first 18 laps before ceding the top spot to Watkins. Bailes regained command for laps 29-37 but couldn't hold off Watkins, who beat Bailes by 3.881 seconds. ... Dennis Franklin, a six-time Clash winner at Lancaster, finished third. He was the other competitor to complete all 40 laps. … Sixth-starting Jordy Nipper finished fourth in his first career start at Lancaster. ...
