Jody Knowles earned $5,000 for his victory at Bristol.
What won the race: Jody Knowles of Tyrone, Ga., bested a six-car field of 604 Crate Late Models Saturday to capture the division's 20-lap Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals finale at Bristol Motor Speedway. The 36-year-old driver beat Monk Gulledge of Batesburg, S.C., by 0.360 of a second for the $5,000 top prize.
Key notes: Knowles led the feature's entire distance. ... Gulledge grabbed second on lap 14 from Sioux Falls, S.D.'s John Winge, who finished third and was the last driver running at the checkered flag. ... The 604 Crate Late Models were on the undercard of the $50,000-to-win Super Late Model action at the Bristol Dirt Nationals. ... Three preliminary features were run earlier in the week with Knowles winning Tuesday and Wednesday and Gulledge claiming Thursday's event. ... The division drew 118 entries for last year's inaugural Bristol Dirt Nationals when Austin Dillon captured the $7,500 winner's purse, but fewer than 10 entered in 2022 after the class was a late addition to the schedule.
Winner's sponsors: Knowles’s Rocket Chassis carries sponsorship from Gentry Used Auto Parts, Knowles Trucking, H.J. Wings & Things, CSR Aluminum, Clayton Signs, Topnotch Kustom Konceptz and Sweet Victory Apparel.
