Justin Williams heads to a $10,000 victory at Natural Bridge.
What won the race: Polesitter Justin Williams of Concord, Va., led all 55 laps at Natural Bridge Speedway on Saturday, earning his first career feature victory with the Renegades of Dirt Late Model Tour and the $10,000 top prize.
Key notes: The Super Late Model win was the second five-figure payday for Williams at Natural Bridge; he also earned $10,000 on Oct. 24, 2020, in the Cash Money 100 for Limited Late Models. ... After slipping to fourth just prior to a caution on lap 20, Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, Va., rebounded to claim the runner-up position. ... Fifth-starting Tyler Erb, who invaded Natural Bridge after his plans to run the World of Outlaws Illini 100 in at Farmer City, Ill., were dashed by the event's cancellation, rounded out the podium in third. ... After utilizing the high line early and running second for the majority of the race, Kyle Hardy faded in the closing laps and finished fourth. ... Third-starting Max Blair, a WoO rookie who joined Erb in running Natural Bridge after Farmer City's action was scrapped, rebounded to finish eighth after spinning on lap 22 while battling Erb for fourth. ... Saturday's feature, the season opener for the Renegades of Dirt Late Model Tour, was slowed by six separate incidents and lasted over 35 minutes. … Jeff Whitt scratched.
