What won the race: Completing a clean sweep in Friday's Barn Burner at Old No. 1 Speedway, fast qualifier and polesitter Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., stormed to the $3,000 prize ahead of Morgan Bagley and B.J. Robinson. He took the checkers 0.316 of a second ahead of the ninth-starting Bagley.
Quotable: “We got a late start to this year because I had a lot of projects happening in the shop for area racers, and we were also anticipating the arrival of our new son,” Moyer said. “Our first few races out we weren’t bad, but we were battling a miss in the engine. We got it lined out at Harrisburg on Friday night, and I was able to get to the lead late in the race and get the win."
Key notes: The winner notched his first victory since July 2, 2021, in Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association competition at 300 Raceway in Farley, Iowa. .... Moyer, who was making his fourth overall start of 2022, recorded his 18th career Comp Cams victory. … Nine drivers completed 30 laps. ... With an unfavorable forecast heading into Saturday, series officials made the decision to postpone the event at Riverside International Speedway; no makeup date was immediately announced.
On the move: Runner-up Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, started ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Moyer’s Longhorn Chassis has a Clements Racing Engine and sponsorship from Nutrien Ag Solutions, Dyna-Gro Seed, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Titan Motorsports, Tye Twarog Racing, Pontiac RV, Phillips CPA Firm, FK Rod Ends and Penske Racing Shocks.
