What won the race: Picking up his third straight victory with the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series, second-starting Eli Beets of Knoxville, Tenn., led all 40 laps in Friday's Summer Sizzler at Ponderosa Speedway. He earned $7,500.
Key notes: Beets stole the lead from fast-qualifier Zack Dohm on the opening lap and paced the field on the highside. ... Action moves to Mountain View Raceway on Saturday with a $5,000-to-win event for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series.
