Ross Bailes heads for a $10,000 Dog Hollow victory.
What won the race: Ross Bailes of Clover, S.C., took the lead for good on lap 39 Saturday and paced the final 12 circuits at Dog Hollow Speedway, winning the $10,000 Hustle at the Hollow weekend finale. Bailes led 33 laps in total (16-37 and 39-50) en route to his first career feature victory with the Zimmer's United Late Model Series.
Key notes: Seeking a weekend sweep after winning Friday's $2,000 opener, Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, Pa., swapped the lead with Bailes on lap 38 and finished 1.009 seconds back. ... Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock W.Va., moved into third place on lap 38 and rounded out the podium. ... Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., ran as high as second before halfway, then faded to finish fourth. ... By finishing fifth, Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, Pa., officially clinched the 2022 ULMS Series points championship. ... Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., led the first seven laps before tagging the rear of the field and rebounded to finish ninth. ... There were a total of four lead changes among four different drivers. ... Jason Miller ran inside the top five in the early laps before going to the rear as well; he finished 10th. ... Saturday's feature, the ULMS tour's third stop at Dog Hollow this season, was slowed by five cautions and lasted 31 minutes, with 11 drivers completing all 50 laps.
