Booger Brooks on his way to a $5,000 Red Clay Series victory at Smoky Mountain Speedway.
What won the race: Booger Brooks of Chattanooga, Tenn., led all 30 laps from the outside front row to claim Saturday night's Red Clay 602 Crate Series-sanctioned Blue Collar 50 at Smoky Mountain Speedway. With the $5,000 victory, Brooks completed a sweep of 2022's seven Red Clay Series events.
Key notes: Brooks's seven-for-seven season in Red Clay Series action came at four different tracks. ... Blake Craft of Lavonia, Ga., moved into second on lap 27 after running inside the top three for the entire distance; he finished 1.099 seconds behind Brooks. ... Jake Green battled with Craft throughout the event and settled for third. ... Polesitter Brad Seagle failed to lead a lap and finished fourth. ... Dustin Bunch advanced six positions and finished eighth. ... Ronnie Johnson ran as high as fifth before retiring on lap nine, finishing 21st. ... Saturday's feature, the season finale for the Red Clay 602 Crate Series, was slowed by five cautions and lasted 24 minutes; 17 drivers completed all 30 laps.
