What won the race: Restarting fifth with seven laps remaining in the 50-lap feature, Jason Fitzgerald of Jacksonville, Fla., roared past two-time race winner Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla., with two laps remaining for his third career United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series victory.
Key notes: Reigning track champion Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, Fla., finished second while Whitener slipped to sixth at the finish. ... The eighth-starting Fitzgerald's previous UDLMCS victory came Sept. 28, 2013 at North Florida Speedway in Lake City, Fla. ... Fitzgerald picked up a trophy from Sweet's Design Guitar. ... He also picked up a $200 bonus from Select Environmental Services to make his total payday $4,000. ... Devin Dixon and Phillip Cobb led early before Whitener took command on lap 10. ... Cobb's night ended when he slowed on the 16th lap. .... East Bay hosted the series for the first time since 2008. ...
