What won the race: Controlling the action from start-to-finish Auston Horton of Whitesburg, Ga., emerged victorious in Saturday’s 40-lap Limited Late Model feature at East Alabama Motor Speedway. He was never seriously threatened on his way to claiming the $5,000 top prize by 1.206 seconds over Dusty Jones.
Key notes: Horton, who also was the fast-timer in Friday's qualifying session, recorded his ninth overall triumph of 2022 but first away from Senoia (Ga.) Raceway. ... Jones ran second for the entire distance but couldn't draw close enough to pressure Horton. ... Chad Wallace grabbed third on lap 33 and finished in the position. ... Six caution flags slowed the race, all during the first 20 circuits.
On the move: Kip Cochran of Hiawassee, Ga., started 18th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Horton’s Wood Motorsports Rocket Chassis was powered by a Bobby Thomas engine and carries sponsorship from Franklin Enterprises, Super K Express, Orr’s Towing, ANS Welding and Fab, Brandon Duke and Integra Shocks.
