Winner Max Blair (1) and runner-up Trevor Collins (72) at Georgetown.
What won the race: Polesitter Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., led all 30 laps at Georgetown Speedway to captureThursday's $3,000 Battle of the Bay Speedweek feature. Blair added to his all-time series lead, notching his 30th career RUSH Crate Late Model victory and his fourth career Speedweek triumph, collecting his second $3,000 payday at Georgetown.
Quotable: “It was a lot of fun. I love coming down here and doing this deal, it’s a really cool little deal that Mike and
Vicky put together for Crate guys,” Blair said. “I know how good he (Trevor Collins) is here, so I was concerned the whole race. It’s pretty awesome (winning my 30th career RUSH feature), I’m still a Crate racer trying to race Super Lates, is what I am. We’re learning every day, we’re out there on the road and we’re just trying to get better every week.”
Key notes: Trevor Collins collected his second runner-up finish in as many nights, crossing the line 1.102 seconds back. ... Austin Hubbard advanced 18 positions and finished third. ... Jeremy Wonderling and Nick Davis each gained six spots, finishing fifth and sixth. ... Matt Glanden started 17th and finished eighth. ... After winning Wednesday's $3,000 opener at Delaware International Speedway Kyle Hardy overcame a spin on lap nine and finished 11th. ... Brock Pinkerous drew a caution with three separate spins and finished 17th. ... Russell Erwin pulled off on lap nine while running 10th and finished 20th. ... Thursday's feature, the second of four Battle of the Bay Speedweek races, was slowed by four cautions and lasted 25 minutes with 16 competitors completing 30 laps.
On the move: Austin Hubbard of Seaford, Del., started 21st and finished third.
