What won the race: Dillon Tidmore of Gadsen, Ala., regained the lead with a physical move out of turn four on lap 27 and cruised to win Saturday's $5,000 second annual Buckshot Two Piece feature at Buckshot Speedway. Tidmore led twice for 34 laps, notching his first career Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series feature victory.

Quotable: “I’m pretty speechless about this deal, Dennis Harker gave me a chance in 2015 to start running Super Late Models and without him, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today,” Tidmore said. “I’m just really lucky to get to have the people I have around me. I knew that top was going to be up there, but I just didn’t know if it was going to get dirty quick enough and he (Billy Franklin) came blazing by me and I thought I let this one go here.”

Key notes: Tidmore is the fifth different winner in the first five series races this season. ... Fifth-starting Dalton Cook overcame a spin on lap seven to finish second, 2.336 seconds back; Cook took the runner-up spot with a physical move on lap 33, pushing Billy Franklin out of the preferred line. ... The race was slowed by 10-minute red flag on lap eight when second-running Josh Putnam over-rotated in front of the field on a restart, collecting several vehicles; Putnam, Gavin Cowan, Matthew Brocato and Virgil Taylor were unable to continue. ... Saturday's feature, the first completed SAS event since March 11, was slowed by eight cautions and lasted 42 minutes, with six drivers completing all 40 laps. … The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returns for two additional stops at Buckshot Speedway later this year, on Aug. 26 and Nov. 17.
