What won the race: Fifth-starting Michael Chilton of Salvisa, Ky., marched to the lead on lap 11 and never looked back, pacing the final 30 laps at Richmond Raceway, winning Saturday's $5,000 Junebug Rowland Memorial. Chilton earned his first main event victory of the season and the second of his career with the Ultimate Heart of America Series.
Key notes: Seventh-starting Tyler Carpenter moved into the runner-up position on lap 38 and finished 1.926 seconds back. ... Second-starting Justin Rattliff led the first 10 laps before fading to finish third. ... Eighth-starting James Rice ran as high as second in the closing laps before fading to finish fourth. ... Polesitter Tristan Chamberlain failed to lead a lap and finished sixth. ... Dustin Linville overcame trouble after tangling with Josh Rice while battling for second on lap eight and being forced to tag the field; Linville rebounded to finish seventh while Josh Rice rebounded to run sixth before pulling off on lap 32. ... Jason Barrett advanced five positions and finished ninth. ... Saturday's main event was slowed by four cautions and lasted 26 minutes, with 11 drivers completing all 40 laps. ... Twenty-four hours after the event, overnight storms struck the track, damaging the backstretch bleachers, bringing down poles and power lines, fences and trees, according to owner Bill Lupinos.
