What won the race: Second-starting Chris Hough of Calhoun, Ga., took the point from race-long leader Sawyer Tinker on lap 25 and paced the final 26 circuits at Rome Speedway, winning Saturday's $5,000 49th annual Independence 50 feature. Hough collected his first Red Clay 602 Crate Late Model Series victory of the season.
Key notes: Nineteenth-starting Cass Fowler moved into the runner-up position on a lap-44 restart and kept pace with Hough in the closing laps, finishing just 0.681 of a second back. ... Sawyer Tinker led the first 24 laps from the pole before fading to finish third. ... Dylan Perry advanced eight positions and finished fourth. ...
