Kenny Moreland heads for victory at Potomac Speedway.
What won the race: Pole-starting Kenny Moreland of Waldorf, Md., led all 30 laps Saturday at Potomac Speedway to capture the $5,050 Larry Hills Memorial. Moreland was unchallenged in securing his 10th career victory at Potomac, his first since winning 2020's Hills Memorial event.
Quotable: "I think having the crate motor in the car has made me concentrate more on being a driver and getting our car right," Moreland said. "I knew we would struggle a bit with this motor at the bigger tracks, but we would be OK at smaller tracks and we really hit on something here tonight."
Key notes: A $3,022 winner at Potomac in May, Trevor Collins moved into the runner-up position in the closing laps, finishing a distant 9.467 seconds behind Moreland. ... Jamie Lathroum trailed Moreland for the entire distance until being overtaken by Collins in the late stages, settling for third. ... Willie Milliken ran as high as third before giving way to Collins on lap 14 and finishing fourth. ... Roy Deese Jr. moved into fifth on lap three and rounded out the top five. ... Fifth-running Rob Schirmer drew the race's only caution when he slowed on lap two and pulled off. ... Saturday's feature lasted 11 minutes, with four drivers completing all 30 laps and eight running at the finish.
