Max Blair won the second round of Crate Late Model action at East Bay.
What won the race: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., took the lead on the second lap and held off a late charge from West Virginian-turned-Floridian Doug Horton for a victory in the second of three weekend Crate Late Model races at East Bay.
Quotable: “I’ve been coming here since a little kid to watch my dad race," Blair said. "It was very nerve-wracking being on the defense instead of offense with Doug Horton right behind me.”
Key notes: Several cautions slowed the 35-lap feature. ... Thursday's winner Josh Peacock of Dover, Fla., finished ninth. ... For Saturday, the top six in combined finishes from Thursday and Friday's action will make up the first three rows of the 50-lapper: David Schmauss, Jack Nosbisch Jr., Peacock, Shan Smith, Blair and Mavrick Varnadore.
Winner's sponsors: Blair's Rocket Chassis is sponsored by R&J Poultry, Moody & Sons Welding, D.I. Anderson and Genesis Shocks.
