Billy Moyer Jr. picked up a $5,000 payday at Super Bee Speedway.
What won the race: Inheriting the point when early race leader Kyle Beard tangled with a lapped car and spun on lap 10, pole-starting Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., paced the final 30 circuits to win Friday's $5,000 inaugural Comp Cams Super Dirt Series visit to Super Bee Speedway. Moyer Jr. recorded his second series victory of the season and the 21st of his career, moving him into sole possession of third on the tour's all-time wins list.
Quotable: “Yeah man, I hate that happened (to Kyle Beard), you don’t wish that upon anybody, those guys were fast,” Billy Moyer Jr. said. “You know it could’ve gotten exciting in lapped traffic, but (Beard) would’ve been hard to beat. But, we’ve had our fair share of bad luck and just glad to get a win here.”
Key notes: Entering as series points leader, second-starting Beard, of Trumann, Ark., led the first 10 laps before a lapped car spun and collected him; Beard was able to continue before becoming involved in a multicar incident on lap 11 and ran outside the top-10 before pulling off on lap 31. ... Fourth-starting Jon Mitchell moved into the runner-up spot on a lap-11 restart and trailed Moyer Jr. the rest of the way, finishing 3.416 seconds back. ... Tenth-starting Jamie Burford marched through the field and took third on lap 35, rounding-out the podium. ... Brian Rickman and B.J. Robinson each improved two positions, as they completed the top five. ... Hunter Rasdon gained five spots and finished seventh. ... Jarret Stuckey advanced eight positions and finished eighth. … Fifth-running Morgan Bagley pulled off on lap 17. ... Friday's feature was slowed by seven separate incidents, including a 10-minute red flag for a multicar pileup on a lap-11 restart attempt. The 40-lap main event lasted 47 minutes, with 12 competitors completing the entire distance and 13 running at the finish. ... Mikey Kile and Cody Leonard each had their qualifying times disallowed after being light at the scales. ... Comp Cams Series competitors return to Super Bee on Oct. 19-20 for a $5,000-to-win and $10,000-to-win doubleheader weekend.
On the move: Cody Leonard of Sinton, Texas, started 18th and finished ninth.
