Neil Baggett and his supporters at Jackson Motor Speedway.
What won the race: Second-starting Neil Baggett of Columbus, Miss., traded the lead with B.J. Robinson multiple times before taking the top spot for good on lap 16 and led the final 45 laps to win Saturday's $6,000 12th annual All-American 60 at Jackson Motor Speedway. Baggett led twice for 58 laps (2-14, 16-60) to earn his sixth career Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory.
Quotable: “Man it was real hairy (in lapped traffic),” Baggett said. “I had a line on the outside, I thought it was cleaning up and everyone kept going to the bottom, so I thought ‘man, this is working out too perfect,' then all of a sudden three (lapped cars) start to go the top and I didn’t really know what to do. B.J. (Robinson) got under me and I just kept him low. I can’t say enough about this darn race car, god it’s good, I mean my boy could get in it and go win races. It’s good, it’s that easy to drive.”
Key notes: Pole-starting B.J. Robinson led twice for two laps (1, 15) before settling in the runner-up spot for the final 39 circuits and finishing 0.259 of a second back. ... Sixth-starting Morgan Bagley made a bold fifth-to-second move on a lap-23 restart before being overtaken by Robinson and finishing third. ... Brian Rickman ran as high as second in the early laps before fading to finish fourth. ... After winning Friday's $5,000 opener at Super Bee (La.) Speedway, Billy Moyer Jr. settled for fifth. ... Hunter Rasdon improved four positions and finished sixth. ... Jamie Burford drew the race's third and final caution when he sustained a flat right-rear on lap 31; Burford could only rebound to finish 13th after changing the tire, the last driver on the lead lap. ... Saturday's 32-minute feature had 13 competitors running at the finish.
On the move: Chad Thrash of Meridian, Miss., started 14th and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Baggett’s Prate Montgomery-owned Rocket Chassis is powered by a Jay Dickens engine and sponsored by Montgomery Farms, Jamie’s Body Shop, RTC Recovery, Doug’s Auto Sales, Shon’s Painting, King Motor Company and Advanced Logistics.
