Gregg Satterlee won Saturday's Butch Renninger Memorial, his fifth.
What won the race: Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., grabbed the lead from polesitter Trever Feathers on lap two and led the remaining distance of Saturday’s caution-free, 33-lap Butch Renninger Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. Satterlee earned $7,333 for his fifth career Renninger Memorial triumph as well as his second Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series win of 2023 and the 20th of his career.
Quotable: “It was a lot of fun out there. You could race all over the racetrack,” said Satterlee. “We were here last weekend for the big (Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series) race and kinda just struggled all weekend, but we made some changes today and got the car back online where we need it to be. The lapped cars, I would catch ‘em sometimes and they were two-wide so it would really, really slow me down, and I was trying to move around enough that I wasn’t totally killing all my speed. It just worked out.”
Key notes: Leading the final 32 laps, Satterlee finished 0.765 of a second ahead of Feathers. He is now a three-time feature winner at Port Royal this season. … Including lap bonuses, Satterlee earned $8,389. ...
