What won the race: Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, Va., fired off from the outside front row and led all 50 laps to win Saturday's second annual $5,000 Country Roads 50 at Beckley Motor Speedway. Bare secured his second Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge Series victory — becoming the first repeat winner of the season — and the fourth of his career.
Key notes: Pole-starting Jeff Parsons regained the runner-up spot on a lap-47 restart and trailed Bare for the final four laps, finishing 0.850 of a second back. ... Eighth-starting Samuel Bryant also took advantage of the lap-47 restart and completed the podium. ... Dale Moore slipped as low as eighth before recovering to complete the top five. ... After running second for the majority of the race, points leader Derick Quade drew the race's seventh and final caution on lap 47; Quade was forced to tag the field and could only rebound to finish seventh. ... Robbie Emory improved six positions and finished eighth. ... Fourth-running Matthew Nance drew the fifth caution on lap 39 and tagged the field before recovering to finish ninth. ... Michael Alderman gained three spots and completed the top 10. ... Dan Breuer was running fourth when he brought out the race's sixth caution on lap 44; Breuer lost a lap but continued and placed 11th, the last driver running at the finish. ... Saturday's 38-minute feature saw 10 drivers complete 50 laps. ... Derek Rogers scratched.
