Zack Dohm won both nights of Skyline’s Harvest 50 weekend.
What won the race: Taking the lead from Colten Burdette on the second circuit, second-starting Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., led the final 49 laps to win Saturday's $5,000 38th annual Harvest 50 at Skyline Speedway. Dohm swept Skyline's doubleheader after winning Friday's $2,000 opener and earned more than $8,000 across the weekend, including a $1,000 bonus for leading lap 30 courtesy of Steve Shaver.
Key notes: Last year's Harvest 50 winner, eighth-starting Tyler Carpenter, moved into the runner-up spot on lap 20 and trailed Dohm for the final 30 laps, finishing 2.874 seconds back. ... The pole-starting Burdette, of Parkersburg, W.Va., led the first lap before fading to finish third. ... Fifth-starting Jacob Hawkins ran as high as third in the early laps before giving way to Carpenter and finishing fourth. ... Ninth-starting Brandon Francis moved into fifth on lap 22 and completed the top five. ... Bill Bray improved seven positions and finished eighth. ... Patrick Solari gained six spots and completed the top 10. ... Saturday's 50-lap feature was slowed by five cautions and lasted 27 minutes, with 13 drivers completing the distance; 14 were running at the finish.
On the move: Robbie Bostic of Mineral Wells, W.Va., started 19th and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Dohm’s Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Pro Power Racing Engine and sponsored by Dohm Cycles, Tim Short Auto Group, Way Floor Covering, Octane Race Products, Dohm Farm, Daggett Rentals and Mountain Top RV park.
