Ben Watkins won his seventh straight Super Late Model feature at Lancaster and his fourth straight Red Rose Rumble.
What won the race: Second-starting Ben Watkins of Rock Hill, S.C., led all 40 laps to win Saturday's seventh annual Red Rose Rumble at Lancaster Motor Speedway. Watkins pocketed $5,000 for his 13th career Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series victory, with nine overall Super Late Model wins coming at Lancaster, including seven straight triumphs there and his fourth consecutive Red Rose Rumble trophy.
Key notes: Jordy Nipper overcame a shredded right-rear tire on the second lap to trail Watkins by lap 31, but he slowed with smoke trailing from his car on lap 37 to draw the race's seventh and final caution flag. He settled for an eighth-place finish. ... Sixth-starting Adam Yarbrough inherited the runner-up spot on the lap-37 restart and pursued Watkins for the final three laps, finishing 1.887 seconds back. ... Pole-starting Ross Bailes completed the podium finishers. ... Brent Robinson improved four positions and rounded out the top five. ... Carson Brown gained six spots and finished sixth in his Carolina Clash debut while Luke Morey started 13th and finished 10th in his inaugural tour start. ... Michael Brown slowed from second on lap 30 and pulled off. ... Second-running Benji Hicks retired on lap 15 with overheating issues. ...
