Hayden Cardwell earned $5,000 for his All-Stars victory.
What won the race: Taking control from early pacesetter Skylar Marlar, second-starting Hayden Cardwell of Knoxville, Tenn., led the final 32 laps to win Saturday's $5,000 Spring Fling at Lake Cumberland Speedway. Cardwell topped the American All-Star Series presented by PPM Racing Products to collect his first feature victory of the season.
Key notes: Third-starting Dustin Linville took second on lap 42 and pursued Cardwell for the final nine laps, finishing 1.233 seconds back. ... Marlar, of Winfield, Tenn., led the opening 18 circuits from the pole before giving way to Cardwell and Linville, and settling for third. ... Three-time series winner at Lake Cumberland Zach Sise finished fourth after taking the spot on a lap-20 restart. ... A.J. Hicks improved six positions and placed sixth. ... Logan Walls gained three spots and rounded-out the top 10. ... Roman Wesley ran as high as third in the early laps before slowing from ninth to draw the race's third and final caution on lap 45; Wesley was unable to continue and credited with 18th. ... Saturday's feature lasted 31 minutes, with 15 competitors completing the distance and 17 running at the finish.
