Randy Weaver picked up $4,000 for his victory at Boyd's.
What won the race: Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn., overtook early leader Dale McDowell on the 17th lap amid traffic, then raced to victory after McDowell spun while trying to get back under Weaver on a lap-18 restart. Weaver earned $4,000.
Quotable: "I felt like we had the superior car. I just needed to wait until the track come to us," Weaver said. "We started getting into lapped traffic so quick and (McDowell's crew chief) was telling him I was getting closer and closer, so he started taking a little more chances than he normally did. .... When you're in second you can pick and choose, and I could tell he was about to get hemmed up down there. When he did, I figured now was the time. So we just jumped up in the middle and got around him."
Key notes: The race was slowed by two cautions on the 18th lap, first for Jason Croft and again when McDowell spun trying to slip back under Weaver; McDowell retired. ... Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga., got around Jason Hiett of Oxford, Ala., for second late in the race, but he was unable to catch Weaver. ... Boyd's is set to host another Southern Nationals Bonus Race on Nov. 14.
On the move: Bub McCool of Vicksburg, Miss., improved from ninth to finish fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Weaver's Outlaw Racing Southeast Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Cornett engine and sponsored by Stone Land Cleaning and Excavating, Mission Transport, A.F. Stone Professional Medical Services and The Bailey Company.
