Cole Searing enjoys victory lane at Gondik Law Speedway.
What won the race: Series points leader Cole Searing of Huron, S.D., dove under polesitting race-long leader Tyler Peterson on the 16th lap and raced to a $2,500 victory in the Twin Ports Twin 25 finale at Gondik Law Speedway. Searing notched his fourth Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series victory of the season.
Quotable: "I kind of got myself behind the 8 ball in that heat race there just started over driving a little bit and, Jimmy (Mars) and all his (MB Cusoms) guys come over and we made some changes there for this feature to try to try some things and they ended up working," Searing said. "I didn't feel like I was making any ground on the bottom, so I was gonna try to run that slider line. I was either gonna hit the wall or run them down."
Key notes: Searing took the checkers 1.394 seconds ahead of Tyler Peterson. ... The second 25-lapper ran caution-free. ... Nineteen drivers completed 25 laps. ... The night's second feature had an 11-car inversion drawn by Shane Sabraski after his victory in the first 25-lapper. ... Don Shaw and Johnny Broking, involved in a last-lap incident in the first twin feature, scratched from the second race.
On the move: John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis., started 10th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Searing’s MB Customs Race Car has a Pro Power Racing Engine and sponsorship from Collins Brothers Towing of St. Cloud, Minnesota Truck Headquarters, Conkey Farms, Central Plains Construction, Jerry Kleinsasser Farms, Binger Cattle and Grain, Allied Climate Professionals, Farmers Union Insurance, Glade Cattle Company, Avail Wealth Management, Speedwerx Headers and Jig E Signs.
