What won the race: Using a last-lap pass by race-long leader Drake Troutman, sixth-starting Michael Lake of Uniontown, Pa., beat Troutman to the checkers by 0.505 of a second to win Saturday's 40-lap Bill Stivason Memorial at Marion Center Raceway. Lake collected $5,000, earning his second win at Marion Center (April 20) and his seventh overall triumph of the season.
Key notes: It's Lake's second major victory of the season after winning July 4's United Late Model Series stop at Bradford (Pa.) Speedway. Lake leads the ULMS standings by 76 points with three races left in the season. ... Second-starting Drake Troutman, making his second start aboard the newly-formed Viper Big Frog Motorsports Rocket, led the opening 39 laps before Lake slipped by and beat him to the line. ... Pole-starting Levi Yetter finished third. ... Alex Ferree improved five positions to finish fourth. ... Third-starting Jon Lee took second on lap 12 and pursued Troutman until he slowed to draw the race's fourth caution on lap 28. Lee rebounded to 12th after pitting. ... The main event was slowed by five incidents and lasted 36 minutes, with 13 starters completing the distance.
On the move: Colton Flinner of Allison Park, Pa., started 17th and finished eighth.
