Dave Hess Jr. picks up his big checks at Outlaw.
What won the race: Sixth-starting Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Pa., outdueled third-starting Drake Troutman to win Friday's third annual Ted Siri Memorial at Outlaw Speedway. Hess hustled to the $7,500 payday in the 35-lap feature for his second Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series victory of the season and the 12th of his career.
Key notes: Hess's first ULMS win of 2024 came July 7 at Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pa. ... The third-starting Troutman, making his third start aboard the newly-formed Viper Big Frog Rocket entry, secured his second runner-up finish of the week after giving way to Michael Lake on the final lap last Saturday at Marion Center (Pa.) Raceway. ... The second-starting Lake, of Uniontown, Pa., faded to fourth at the finish but further extended his advantage atop the ULMS standings. ... Dylan Yoder advanced six spots and rounded out the top five. ... Pole-starting Dan Stone slipped to sixth. ... Andy Boozel started 15th and finished eighth. ... Dylan Cecce was battling for a top-five position before retiring on the 16th lap. ... The main event lasted 16 minutes, with 18 starters completing 35 laps and 17 running at the checkers.
On the move: Seth Zacharias of Vestal, N.Y., started 17th and finished ninth.
