Bobby Pierce earned $5,000 for his Bohlander Tribute victory.
What won the race: Bobby Pierce won his third race in his last four starts Saturday night at Peoria Speedway with a $5,000 payday on the Don Bohlander Tribute. Pierce survived early contact with Mike Spatola that bent up the front of his No. 32, then worked under leader Scott Schmitt near midway and raced to the 50-lap victory.
Quotable: "I let (Mike Spatola) know I was there," Pierce said. "I hit him way harder than what I wanted to, and I thought the radiator was going to get knocked back. We just go really lucky that it didn't."
Key notes: Pierce's 50-lap victory came a week after his Thaw Brawl sweep in La Salle, Ill. ... Spatola was caught up in Mitch McGrath's spin, but officials restored him to the second spot for the restart. ... Fast qualifier Justin Reed couldn't overcome a heat-race inversion and wasn't a factor the rest of the night. ... Jose Parga won the Limited Late Model feature.
Winner's sponsors: The winning Bob Pierce Race Car has a Pro Power Racing Engine and sports sponsorship from Allgayer Inc., American Metal Supply Company, Champion Spark Plugs, DMG Mori Ellison, Keyser Manufacturing, M&M Painting and Construction, Murphy Trucking and Petersen Aluminum.
