Chris Madden topped Wednesday's lone time trial session before rain hit.

Key notes: Rain began falling during time trials for sprint cars and only intensified as Late Models hit the track, washing out the second qualifying session and pushing it to Friday. ... Time trials recap

Piloting a Longhorn Chassis owned by G.R. Smith, Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., topped the lone time trial session held Wednesday, ripping around Charlotte’s 4/10-mile oval in 14.785 seconds. ... Tar Heel State racer Jordan Koehler topped the second qualifying group with a 14.929-second lap in time trials for Thursday’s program. ... Bobby Pierce, Ricky Thornton Jr., Mike Marlar and Daulton Wilson are slated to join Madden and Koehler as pole position starters in Thursday's heats. ...
