Tom Sprague Jr.'s father, Winston's promoter, joins him in victory lane.
What won the race: Tom Sprague Jr. of North Muskegon, Mich., outdueled two-time Sunoco American Late Model Series champion Rusty Schlenk of McClure, Ohio, for his first career ALMS victory at Winston Speedway, earning $2,000. ALMS points leader Ryan Unzicker led until turn-three wreck blocked the track, forcing him to the exit the track; he never returned.
Key notes: The Sunoco American Late Model Series closed its April stretch at Winston Speedway. ... Runner-up finisher Rusty Schlenk was the winner of the April 18 ALMS event at Eldora Speedway and the winner of last year's series stop at Winston. ...
