What won the race: Polesitter Joey Couvillion of Pineville, La., raced to a 25-lap victory at 171 Speedway, beating Texan Robbie Starnes to the checkered flag.
Quotable: "We finished this car today at 12 o'clock today and loaded it up," Couvillion said in victory lane. "Man, this is just an awesome feeling."
Key notes: B.J. Robinson earned $1,000 for an unsanctioned Super Late Model event at 171. ... The evening was delayed when the Super Late Model of Don Thomas went over the wall and through fencing just in front of the pit grandstand during prelims; no injuries were reported.
