What won the race: Starting outside the front row, Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga., led all 40 laps at Dixie Speedway for his second Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals in as many nights. McIntosh pulled within two points of series leader Billy Ogle Jr., who finished third, with one points race remaining. Fast qualifier Casey Roberts finished third.
Quotable: “It’s still too early to talk about the championship," McIntosh said. "We’ve got a good car, he’s got a good car, so we’ve got to get a good qualifying run tomorrow and do the best we can, but I’m going to hold my head high whether we come up with a win or second in points. These last two races have been just awesome for us so I’m really pleased."
Key notes: Fourth-starting Jake Knowles was an early retiree after hitting the wall. ... Dixie hosted the second race of a Memorial Day weekend tripleheader that wraps up the points on the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals. ... Sunday's racing moves to Rome Speedway, Dixie's sister track.
On the move: Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., started eighth and finished fourth.
