Notes: Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors contest the middle of three straight crown jewel events with the 42nd annual Sunoco North-South 100 at Florence Speedway in Union, Ky. … The three-day event kicks off with twin 25-lap, $6,000-to-win semifeatures Thursday and Friday with accumulative points setting the lineup for Saturday’s heat race lineups preceding consolations and the $75,000-to-win finale. … The purse increases to an event-record $325,000 over three days, including an event-high $3,500-to-start payoff in the finale. … Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., overtook Hudson O’Neal with 20 laps remaining and held off late challenges from Ricky Thornton Jr. to win last season's $75,000 prize, his second career North-South triumph (2016).
