Matthees pockets $6,000 at WISSOTA 100
HURON, S.D. (Sept. 17) — Long-time WISSOTA veteran Lance Matthees of Winona, Minn., outran twentysomethings Jake Redetzke and Marshall Fegers on Saturday at Dakota State Fair Speedway for a $6,000 victory in the Late Model portion of the WISSOTA 100.
Matthees took the checkers ahead of Redetzke, of Eau Claire, Wis., and Fegers, of Mound, Minn., to cap a four-day festival of racing. | Slideshow
Hometown driver Brian Diede was fourth and Mike Prochnow of Menomonie, Wis., rounded out the top five finishers in the 33-car field. Eighteen starters were running at the finish and track champion Chad Becker of Aberdeen, S.D., was the first retiree.
