LOXLEY, Ala. (March 14-15) —In a race of attrition with several right-rear tires going flat, Nathan Ingersoll of Robertsdale, Ala., outlasted his opponents for a career-best $10,000 victory in the crate Late Model portion of the Chuck Stevens Motorsports 100 at Deep South Speedway. Ingersoll led the final four laps, holding off Stephen Brantley of Monroeville, Ala., for the unsanctioned victory. | Chuck Stevens Motorsports 100 Super Late Model story
Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn., was third followed by polesitter David Gentry of Lewisburg, Tenn., and William Thomas of Phenix City, Ala. Thomas, Johnson, Gentry, Royce Bray and Jay Blair were among leading cars who were felled by flat tires. Only seven of 24 starters were running at the finish.
Shep Lucas of McKenzie, Ala., won the Super Late Model portion of the event, earning $5,000.
