What won the race: Sam Seawright of Rainsville, Ala., grabbed the lead from race-long pacesetter Ricky Weiss on lap 13 and led the rest of the way in Sunday’s 40-lap Winterfest finale at Duck River Raceway Park. The 21-year-old beat Cory Hedgecock to the finish line by 3.677 seconds in earning a $6,025 first-place prize.
Key notes: Seawright wasn’t seriously challenged after assuming command as he marched to his second Super Late Model triumph of 2025. His previous success came in Jan. 4’s Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala. … Hedgecock overtook Josh Putnam on lap 38 to secure a runner-up finish. … Putnam settled for a third-place finish after running second for much of the distance. … Jadon Frame raced in fourth place from lap 21 to the finish while national touring regular Max Blair cracked the top five on the final lap after starting 12th. … Weiss led laps 1-12 but faded after losing the top spot and retired on lap 25. … Seeking to sweep the Winterfest weekend after winning Friday’s opener, Christian Hanger started from the pole position but failed to complete a lap. … The event was completed after twice being postponed by rain and wintry weather — and despite strong storms on Saturday that left some roads approaching the track flooded on Sunday morning.
On the move: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., started 12th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Seawright’s Troy Baird-owned Longhorn Chassis is powered by an Andy Durham Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from Troy Baird Truck and Trailer Sales, Franklin Enterprises, Cove 2 Coast Marine, AGCOR Steel, Coltman Farms Racing, J&R Excavating, Houston Project, Grow Pediatric Therapy, Farm Systems, Inc., Lance Kittle Truck and Trailer Repair, CSR Performance Products, DirtCarLift.com and Freestyle Graphix.
