What won the race: Polesitter Dillon Brown of Gaffney, S.C., led all 40 laps to capture his first career Vision Wheel Steel Block Bandits Series victory Saturday, earning $5,000 at Sumter (S.C.) Speedway. Runner-up Michael Rouse of Wilson, N.C., finished 0.796 seconds behind.
Key notes: Brown also won two weeks earlier at Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, S.C., on the Cagle Automotive Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model Series. ... Runner-up Michael Rouse stayed within a second of eventual winner Dillon Brown over the final nine laps, pulling as close as 0.418 seconds on lap 32. ... Brown's largest lead of the night was 2.354 seconds on lap 28. ... Robbie Emory of Milton, Del., gained five positions to finish on the podium, starting eighth to finish third. ... Reigning series champ Russell Erwin of Beaverdam, Va., who also won last year's Bandits event at Sumter, started ninth but only made it six laps through the feature and was credited with 17th. … Second-year series regular Landen Zakalowski started 18th and finished seventh. ... The 40-lap feature lasted 32 minutes and had 11 drivers running at the finish.
