What won the race: Second-starting Gary Brown Jr. of Brandon, S.D., outdueled Scott Ward in Saturday night’s Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series event at I-90 Speedway to record his series-leading eighth career victory. Taking the checkers ahead of Ward and Nate Beyenhof, Brown pocketed $1,000.
Key notes: It was Brown’s second Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series victory of the season. He won at Wagner (S.D.) Speedway on July 4 and is the first repeat winner in 13 series races in 2020. … All but one of the 22 starters finished the race with 13 completing all 25 laps. … Saturday’s race was the second night of the tour’s weekend doubleheader, which began Friday at Wagner (S.D.) Speedway, where Blair Nothdurft of Renner, S.D., raced to his first career series win. … Nothdurft finishes fifth on Saturday. … With finishes of second at I-90 and third at Wagner, Scott Ward of Watertown, S.D., was the only driver to record podium finishes in each race. … The series visited I-90 Speedway for the second of three scheduled stops at the Hartford oval this season. … The series returns to I-90 on Sept. 12.
