What won the race: Leading all 40 laps from the pole, Oakley Johns of Hohenwald, Tenn., was crowned King of the Hill in Crate Racin' USA touring competition at Thunderhill Raceway Park on Saturday, earning $3,000.
Key notes: Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, Tenn., claimed the runner-up position, 2.063 seconds behind Johns. ... Fourteenth-starting Pearson Lee Williams of Dublin, Ga., advanced 11 positions and finished third. ... CRUSA Series point leader Jason Welshan of Maryville, Tenn., finished 14th. ... Making his way as high as the second position, Jadon Frame of Winchester, Tenn., experienced trouble on lap 33 and finished 16th. ... Saturday's feature, originally scheduled as a $10,000-to-win event over two days, was condensed by Friday rain. ... The feature was slowed by six incidents and lasted 35 minutes, with 13 competitors completing 40 laps. …. The series amended its tire rule to allow six per event (up from five previously mandated).
