Dona Marcoullier and crew rejoice in their $10,000 win Friday at Tri-City.
What won the race: Dona Marcoullier of Houghton Lake, Mich., led all 40 laps from the outside pole to bank a home-state $10,000 payday with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Tri-City Motor Speedway. Marcoullier's win is his second with the Hell Tour, adding to his 2020 victory at Tri-City.
Quotable: "This is awesome. It's always nice to win one of these, but, I mean, you can't give up," Marcoullier said. "I know we got unlucky with the pill draw. I don't know. To to do it again at your home racetrack is ... I don't what to say. Black Diamond has been awesome. This is our older car. (Thank you) to everybody that helps us out I don't know what to say. It's a dream come true, and now we have two of them (tour wins)."
Key notes: Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., finished 3.736 seconds behind Marcoullier in a nonstop feature that spanned 10 minutes, 36 seconds. ... Marcoullier's win marked his ninth at Tri-City of $4,000 or more in winner's earnings since 2019. ... Tri-City hosted the penultimate scheduled event on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
On the move: Frank Heckenast Jr. of Frankfort, Ill., started 17th and finished seventh.
