What won the race: Chad Holladay of Muscatine, Iowa, held off a late-race challenge by Tad Pospisil to lead all 25 laps for Wednesday's Malvern Bank East Series victory at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Holladay's $3,000 triumph came 0.987 of a second over Jeff Tharp, who scored his best finish of the season.
Key notes: Chad Holladay's victory was the fifth of his career on the Malvern East Series, tying him for fourth all-time with Jeff Aikey. ... Though Holladay led every lap, Tad Pospisil pulled alongside the eventual winner, taking the five-to-go signal 0.04 of a second back at the stripe. Pospisil slipped back to fifth on the final restart with two laps remaining. ... Four cautions slowed the 18-minute feature: Luke Pestka’s opening lap rollover (he wasn't hurt); Nick Marolf’s spin on lap two; a multicar pileup involving Derrick Stewart, Zach Less and Andrew Kosiski on the lap-two restart; and on lap 23 for Fred Remley. ...
