Mason Zeigler led the final three laps for his first ULMS victory of the season.
What won the race: Mason Zeigler of Chalk Hill, Pa., took advantage of Travis Stickley's fall from the lead with three laps left to claim his second straight $12,055 Labor Day 55 Classic payday on Friday at Bedford Speedway on the Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series. Stickley, who led the opening 52 laps, relinquished the lead when he began to slow with an apparent flat tire while rounding the three-to-go signal.

Hall of Famer Rick Eckert of York, Pa., was also a notable non-qualifier. … The event also honors Bob Elbin, of Woodbury, Pa., the legendary car owner who began driving in 1956 and continued until the 1970s; Elbin died on Sept. 28, 2021, at the age of 88. June’s Appalachian Mountain Speedweek event was dedicated solely to Elbin before it rained out. … Zeigler of Chalk Hill, Pa., is now a three-time Labor Day Classic winner. ... Four cautions slowed the 55-lap feature: On lap 18 for Devin Hart, who slowed out of the 12th making his debut in the James Steven-owned No. 11H Rocket Chassis; lap 22 for sixth-running Ross Robinson; lap 38 for Alex Ferree, who slowed out of seventh; and lap 52 for race-long leader Travis Stickley, who slowed out of second with an apparent flat tire. ... The race lasted nearly 40 minutes, with 11 starters completing the distance.
On the move: Kyle Lee of Mercersburg, Pa., started 17th and finished fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Zeigler’s Rocket Chassis has a Clements Racing Engine and sponsorship from JLE Industries, Greenlane.ai, Imperial River Transport, Roy’s Body Shop & Garage, RBS Auto & Trailer Sales: Sykesville, MD, Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals, Fox Shocks, Wiles Driveshafts and All About Wraps.
