What won the race: Seventh-starting Jadon Frame of Winchester, Tenn., inherited Sunday's $6,000 Sam Pugh Memorial at Duck River Raceway Park after apparent flag-to-flag winner Christian Hanger was disqualified in postrace technical inspection. Frame was credited with his first victory of the season, his first win of any kind since topping a local Super Late Model field on Oct. 21, 2023, at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway.
Key notes: Hanger, who led every lap and ran the second half of the race without power steering, appeared to capture his third victory of the season at Duck River before postrace disqualification for a deck-height violation (he reported his droop measurement was 1/16 of an inch off). ... Logan Brown was elevated to runner-up after initially taking the checkers in fourth, 1.036 seconds behind Frame. ... Scott Cook inherited third after apparent third-place finisher Dillard Hatchett was also DQ'd in postrace tech for a deck-height infraction. ... Mark Bangs improved 12 positions and rounded out the top five. ... Grayson Brewer ran as high as fourth until slowing on lap 28 and pulling off. ... Andy Picklesimer battled as high as third in the opening laps before slipping to 10th and retiring on lap 25. ... Josh Putnam pressured Hanger for the opening 12 laps before slipping to third and appearing to tangle with Picklesimer during the race's seventh caution on lap 21. He was unable to continue. ... The event celebrated the track's 50th anniversary of operation and honored Sam Pugh, the facility's founder. ... The race was slowed by 11 cautions and lasted 53 minutes, with six starters completing 40 laps and eight running at the checkers. ... Kenny Cobble scratched.
On the move: Matthew Brocato of Muscle Shoals, Ala., started 20th and finished fourth.
